Convention almost over … quick review

October 5th, 2006

The last several days have been very exciting! Here are a few quick pictures of various parts of the convention. Here’s two of Angie with our Cintique tablet (a monitor you can draw on with a special digital pen):

The last photo above is Angie being drawn by Jan Op De Beeck (Jan’s a really nice artist from Belgium and wanted to try using Angie’s tablet). He’s also one of the ‘Masters’ at the convention, one of the best, and he just published a new book.

The Cintique has been a great asset to the character design portion of our work. She goes in and designs the characters before they are modeled and then animated. By the way, flying from Philly to Orlando with a 21 inch touch screen, flat panel display is not too bad, but wouldn’t want to do it too often!

There were close to 200 artists at the convention and so I thought it appropriate to show off some of the amazing work they did over the last several days! Enjoy!

(Yes, the top profile with the nose is me!)

(And yes, the top one on the left is me, again!)

This one is me drawing in the speed competition at the convention. I didn’t win, there were some very fast artists at the convention!

And finally, when not working on the Cintique or attending the lectures, or talking with other artists, we spent quite a bit of time running across the street from the hotel to our favorite place!

I’ll post more about the content when I have more time. Just wanted to get some photos up for you! Gotta run, big dinner going on next.

Yeah, it was a great time. Besides all the terrific artists we got to meet, I think the lectures and discussions had so much information!

Can’t wait ’till the next one.
